Amazon Sword

Posted by Jennifer Escobar on

Amazon Sword is a common and popular freshwater aquarium plant. Due to its sturdiness and ability to tolerate a wide range of water conditions, the Amazon Sword has been a favorite among fish keepers.

This plant comes from an extremely diverse biological region of the Amazon River Basin.

An Amazon Sword makes a great background plant. When planted alone, it can be an eye-catching centerpiece plant or it can create a “forest-like” effect when planted together.

Details:

Care: Making sure that it has enough space for growth and has access to good lighting for at least 11-12 hours a day.

Fertilization is not required as the plant gets most of its nutrients from fish food and freshwater

It is normal to see leaves dying off soon after being added to a tank. This is a normal reaction, you can simply trim the dying leaves and the bottom of the stem and allow the new leaves to grow.
